Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will (finally) welcome Josh Barnett back to the Octagon after nearly two years on the sidelines. Waiting to greet him will be fellow heavyweight hurter Roy Nelson, who joins "The Warmaster" in the UFC Fight Night 75 main event on Sat. night (Sept. 26, 2015) inside Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
The action airs LIVE on FOX Sports 1.
Barnett (33-7) was last seen getting squashed by heavyweight contender Travis Browne. Prior to going limp against "Hapa," the former "Babyfaced Assassin" was the winner of two straight, including a technical knockout win over former division champion Frank Mir.
As for his experience fighting fat guys with heavy hands?
Check out this replay of his submission win over Mark Hunt at PRIDE FC: "Critical Countdown Absolute" way back in 2006, featuring a takedown so fast it left color commentator Frank Trigg speechless.
Feels like a lifetime ago.
Nelson (20-11), meanwhile, is trying to slam the brakes on his two-year skid, one that saw him win just one fight out of his last five. After the aforementioned Hunt smashed him last year in Japan, "Big Country" was pushed around by Alistair Overeem in Texas.
But in case you forgot about those heavy hands, here's a replay of his Abu Dhabi snuff film starring Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
Get the smelling salts!
