Video: Conor McGregor wants Frankie Edgar with UFC 194 win over Jose Aldo

If reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight champion Jose Aldo and top division contender Chad Mendes win their next fights, then we're right back where we started in early 2012.

However...

If interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor can defeat "Junior" at UFC 194 and Frankie Edgar can shortchange "Money" at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 22 live finale -- which both take place in December -- then "Notorious" has the next title fight already mapped out.

"If he beats Jose Aldo, he told me he would also like to fight Frankie," White told FOX Sports Live. "We'll see how this thing plays out."

I guess we can pump the brakes on that move to lightweight.

Depending on "how this thing plays out," we could have Aldo vs. Edgar 2 (UFC 156) or McGregor vs. Mendes 2 (UFC 189), neither of which have me running to the ticket window. Then again, you can only play the hand you're dealt when it comes to 145-pound matchmaking.
