Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will do without one of its featured featherweight mixed martial arts (MMA) bouts just three days before UFC Fight Night 75 pops off inside Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, this Sat. night (Sept. 26, 2015) on FOX Sports 1.
The official explanation, according to UFC.com, is training injuries to both Norifumi Yamamoto and Matt Hobar.
Yamamoto, 38, is winless under the ZUFFA banner and struggled with injuries over the past few years. "Kid" has just one fight since 2012, a "No Contest" (eye poke) at UFC 184 last February. Hobar, 28, has yet to compete this year after mixed results in 2014.
Their absence leaves the "Barnett vs. Nelson" card with just 10 bouts, so the featherweight showdown between Diego Brandao and Katsunori Kikuno leaves the FOX Sports 2 "Prelims" and takes over the opening main card slot, while Shinsho Anzai and Roger Zapata get promoted from UFC Fight Pass to the cable television network.
