Bellator 145: Michael Chandler vs David Rickels 2 official for Nov. 6

Thaw out "The Caveman," he's got a date on Nov. 6.

David Rickels and Michael Chandler have met once before. Rickels won the Bellator Season 8 Lightweight Tournament to earn a title shot at then-champion Chandler. Rickels cashed in that shot at Bellator 97 -- unsuccessfully -- being knocked out just 44 seconds into the first round.

Since that time, Rickels has vowed revenge, going so far as to declare it his "evil plan" to face Chandler again this year. Unfortunately, Rickels was accidentally over-aggressive against John Alessio, but given that their fight was ruled a "no contest," Bellator isn't holding it against him.

Meanwhile, Chandler has been on the comeback trail, breaking a three-fight losing streak (including two split decisions) with a first-round finish of Derek Campos at Bellator's "Kimbo vs. Shamrock" mega card.

The future of the lightweight division will be up for grabs at Bellator 145 "Vengeance" in St. Louis at the Scottrade Center, joining the main card of an already packed event. "Pitbull" Patricio Freire will defend the featherweight title against Daniel Straus, and "Ill" Will Brooks will defend his lightweight strap against Marcin Held.

The winner of Chandler vs. Rickels could have a date with destiny against the winner of Brooks vs. Held. The current card for Bellator 145 is below.
