Although Floyd Mayweather could probably afford one, no man is an island, and his latest pay-per-view (PPV) event tonight (Sat., Sept. 12, 2015) at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, will feature some fairly intriguing fights to go along with his headliner opposite Andre Berto.
The PPV main card will feature a total of four fights total. In the co-main event, Roman "Rocky" Martinez (29-2-2, 17 KO) puts his WBO super featherweight belt on the line against veteran bruiser Orlando Salido (42-13-2, 29 KO), whom he defeated earlier this year in entertaining fashion.
The remainder of the PPV will see Mayweather teammate Badou Jack (19-1-1, 12 KO) defend the WBC Super Middleweight title he took from Anthony Dirrell against George Groves (21-2, 16 KO), best known for his thrilling slugfests with Carl Froch, and long-time veteran Jhonny Gonzalez (58-9, 49 KO) will face Puerto Rico's Jonathan Oquendo (25-4, 16 KO) at 130 pounds.
On Showtime itself before the PPV itself, The Money Team's Ishe Smith (27-7, 12 KO) will fight Vanes Matirosyan (35-2-1, 21 KO). I'm not going to lie to you -- Smith is one of the most excruciatingly dull fighters to watch in the entire sport, so consider yourself warned.
