Floyd Mayweather will attempt — allegedly — to tie a money-soaked ribbon around his illustrious boxing career when he puts his WBC and WBA titles, as well as his perfect professional record (48-0), on the line tonight (Sat., Sept. 12, 2015) against unheralded Andre Berto.

Mayweather and Berto will headline a Showtime pay-per-view (PPV) event from inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, which starts at 8 p.m. ET with a four-fight undercard.
It's the sixth and final fight on Mayweather's multimillion dollar deal with Showtime; however, it is perhaps his most underwhelming. Rather than go out with a bang against the likes of true threats like Gennady Golvkin, Keith Thurman or even Amir Khan, Mayweather opted for a whimper at the expense of Berto, who is a former two-time world champion, but has lost three of his last six fights.
Some have called it a "smart" move, while the vast majority has shared their opinion indirectly by not bothering to show up at the box office.
Regardless, Mayweather claims it is his final fight. And that alone is worth watching, even though it seems likely that he would like to ride off into the sunset on a higher note — and with a bigger payload — at a nice, round 50-0.
Time will certainly tell the ultimate tale.
