Invicta FC 14 will be headlined tomorrow by Tonya "Triple Threat" Evinger and undefeated 23-year-old Pannie "Sexy Scramble" Kianzad in what was supposed to be a bantamweight title bout, but both fighters missed weight Friday (Sept. 11, 2015).
Evinger, the defending Invicta champ currently riding a seven fight win streak, initially weighed in just 0.2 pounds over the 135-pound limit and was fined 20 percent of her purse. She made weight on the second attempt in order to avoid being stripped of her title.
However, her opponent Kianzad also came in over the limit and elected not to cut any additional weight, accepting a 25 percent fine of her purse.
As a result, tomorrow's main event will be a five-round non-title fight.
The two women at the top of the card weren't the only fighters to botch their weight cut. DeAnna Bennett, fighting in the co-main event, missed weight by 1.4 pounds on the first attempt, and elected not to try to cut any further.
Rosa Acevedo, meanwhile, weighed in 2.2 pounds over the Strawweight limit and also decided not to cut any further weight. Both women will lose 25 percent of their purse for failing to meet their weight.
