No matter who he fights, "Money" makes some.
There are a lot of apt descriptions for Floyd's upcoming fight against Andre Berto (preview), among them "milk run," "turkey shoot," and "callous slap in the face to loyal fans," but the biggest one, like all Mayweather fights, is "profitable."
While it's not the blockbuster payday he earned against Manny Pacquiao, or the still-impressive one from his bout opposite "Canelo" Alvarez, Mayweather will be getting paid, making a guaranteed $32 million for his efforts this Saturday night.
This sum, the same as in his fights against Miguel Cotto, Robert Guerrero and Marcos Maidana, does not include his cut from the Showtime pay-per-view (PPV) buys or any other additional stipulations from his Sept. 12 extravaganza inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Berto, meanwhile, will earn a career-high $4 million, $1 million more than Maidana.
The rest of the card's payouts are as follows:
Badou Jack – $500,000
George Groves – $500,000
Roman "Rocky" Martinez – $300,000
Orlando Salido – $150,000
Jhonny Gonzalez – $50,000
Jonathan Oquendo – $50,000
Vanes Martirosyan – $150,000
Ishe Smith – $150,000
