Leo Santa Cruz defends 'smart' Floyd Mayweather for hand-picking Andre Berto

Floyd Mayweather's decision to fight Andre Berto this Saturday (Sept. 19, 2015) has had a less-than-stellar reception, but it seems that WBA Featherweight Champion Leo Santa Cruz is not among the naysayers.

Our friends over at FightHub recently caught up with "El Terremoto" to discuss the pay-per-view (PPV) main event showdown inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Santa Cruz -- who himself recently broke a string of subpar competition with a win over Abner Mares -- called Mayweather "smart" for facing an opponent unlikely to end his unbeaten run, though he expressed skepticism that this will actually be the last fight for "Money."

He also showed interest in a possible Pacquiao rematch, declaring that the fight would be more "interesting" than the "pretty entertaining" first bout.

The rest of the video comprises him and the interviewer talking cars, so if that's you're thing, watch on.

Remember, MMAmania will deliver LIVE coverage of "Mayweather vs. Berto" this Saturday night, starting with the Showtime PPV broadcast at 8 p.m. ET.

Just days away from the potential end of an era. If anything goes pear-shaped between now and then, we'll let you know.

See you there, Maniacs!
