Following his submission win over Ovince Saint Preux at last night's (Aug., 8, 2015) UFC Fight Night 73 event in Nashville, Tennessee (highlights), Glover Teixeira wasted no time in putting Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier, on notice.
While he didn't necessarily call him out for a fight next, he did warn "DC" that he is coming for him.
"I'm back, man. My last performance was bad. I just told myself, if I keep fighting like this, I'll stop. Cormier, I told you before, I'm coming for you, baby," he said. "I'm on the right track!"
"DC" was on duty covering the event at the FOX Sports studios, so it didn't take long for him to have a rebuttal. And while he praised Glover for an excellent performance and victory over Ovince, he did tell his fellow 205-pounder to slow it down a notch, as he still has a ways to go before he gets back to the big dance.
And with good reason, too, as Glover's victory was his first since September of 2013, dropping his previous two contests to Jon Jones and Phil Davis.
Furthermore, Cormier gave his vote of confidence to his broadcast partner, Rashad Evans, as the next man to challenge him for the title.
Of course, both men have to take care of their next respective challenges if they want to eventually meet in the center of the Octagon. And wouldn't you know it, both talented wrestlers are set to compete at UFC 192 on Oct. 3, 2015 in Houston Texas.
Cormeir will defend his belt for the first time when he face Alexander Gustafsson in the main event of the evening. Evans, meanwhile, will return to the cage for the first time in nearly two years to face Ryan Bader in the co-headlining spot.

Despite the layoff, a victory over "Darth" will give "Suga" his third in a row. Should Bader pull out the win, then he will likely be next in line for a shot at Cormier, as it will fifth consecutive victory.
