UFC Fight Night 73 bonuses: Glover Teixeira, Amanda Nunes take home $50,000

UFC Fight Night 73 is now in the books, which means it's time to honor those fighters who went the extra mile last night (Sat., Aug. 8, 2015) inside Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee (full results here).

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) doled out its customary post-fight monetary bonuses to four of the 26 fighters on the FOX Sports 1-televised card. The men and women who are leaving the "Music City" with heavier pockets are Glover Teixeira, Ovince Saint Preux, Amanda Nunes and Marlon Vera.

Teixeira, a former Light Heavyweight title challenger, survived an early scare at the hands of potent striker, Preux, to rally and submit "OSP" in the third round.

Brazilian knockout artist, Nunes, captured the biggest win of her career when she choked out former women's 135-pound title challenger Sara McMann in the first frame.

Last, but not least, Ecuadorian submission ace, Vera, struck again, this time with a come-from-behind, second-round triangle armbar victory over Roman Salazar.

Overall, UFC rocked Nashville with a thoroughly enjoyable line up of fights.

Again, each fighter received $50,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which Tennessee's athletic commission may or may not disclose later this week.
