The "worst nightmare" for Johny Hendricks has come true, getting leap-frogged by Carlos Condit, who will battle Welterweight champion Robbie Lawler in the main event of UFC 193.
It was a match up he -- and we -- all saw coming; however, it was made official earlier this evening on "UFC Tonight." UFC 193, which has no other confirmed bouts at this time, will take place at a soon-to-be-determined venue in Melbourne, Australia on Nov. 14, 2015.
Lawler is fresh off his first-ever title defense against Rory MacDonald, a brutal back-and-forth brawl (watch highlights here) at UFC 189 last month that sent both men to the hospital and had "Red King" painfully unrecognizable the next day. Condit, meanwhile, returned from an extended injury layoff to pulverize ex-contender Thiago Alves at UFC Fight Night 67 back in May en route to a second round nose-crushing finish.
Hendricks, meanwhile, will settle for a bout against No. 3-ranked Tyron Woodley at UFC 192, which takes place at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, on Oct. 3, 2015. The winners of both matches will more than fight in early 2016.
