So here's a little something to start your week.
Former PRIDE heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko, who announced his return to mixed martial arts (MMA) earlier this month after a brief retirement, can be seen in this mock weigh-in photo that features "The Last Emperor" standing under the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) banner.
The caption reads "Скоро" (soon).
So why all the hullabaloo from an unverified social media account?
Because one of the first comments is from UFC President Dana White, who left a simple wink as his response, which suddenly has much more meaning after fight fans learned that Bellator MMA and former Strikeforce broski Scott Coker were no longer in the running.
Much ado about nothing?
We may find out as soon as this Friday as the promotion has promised to GO BIG prior to the UFC 191 weigh ins (more on that here). Until then, we should start matching Emelianenko up with current UFC heavyweight because we're fans and that's what we do.
Thanks to Oduj for the tip.
