UFC Quick Quote: The heavyweight division is the most stacked it's ever been

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

"I think this era right now is the best it's ever been. I think in the past we always had top level guys but I think it dwindled off after four or five. Right now there's guys that are 12th, 13th, 14th, that are great fighters in the heavyweight division. I think the top 10 right now is extremely stacked. And I think it's the most stacked it's ever been."

-- If there was ever a division that has often been criticized for its lack of depth, it was the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight division. But, according to former division champion Frank Mir, those days are no more. In fact, Mir -- who takes on Andrei Arlovski in the co-main event of UFC 191 on Sept. 5, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada -- told FOX Sports that the 265-pound weight class is the best it's ever been. As in, stacked! When you look down the list, it's rather hard to disagree with the longtime veteran. And if all goes as planned, the UFC's big men could soon be welcoming the greatest heavyweight of all time into the fold.
