Ronda Rousey needed just 34 seconds to finish off Bethe Correia at UFC 190 last weekend in Brazil (highlights) and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion has already made the next move in her burgeoning film career.
Variety.com reports that Paramount Pictures has secured the rights to Rousey's autobiography "My Fight/Your fight," which was a New York Times best seller. Mark Bomback will be adapting the screenplay and Mary Parent will produce alongside Rousey, who is set to star in the film -- a desire of hers ever since the rights to the book were put on the market, according to the report.
"It's a real honor to be a part of bringing Ronda's incredible story to the big screen," said Parent, whose recent credits include Godzilla and Pacific Rim.
Rousey, 28, co-wrote the book with her sister Maria Burns Ortiz. "My Fight/Your Fight" chronicles her athletic achievements and also sheds a deeper light on personal moments that had a big impact on the champion's life.
A timetable for the film's release has not yet been established.

Next up for "Rowdy" will be a trilogy fight with longtime rival Miesha Tate, which is expected to take place before year's end. After that, she is expected to film the Peter Berg-directed Mile 22, which will also star "Entourage" pal Mark Wahlberg.
"I'm going to beat up Bethe, then I'm going to take a little ... a couple of weeks to rest," Rousey predicted during a UFC 190 conference call. "Then I'm going to go beat up Miesha. Then I'm going to go to, I don't know, Thailand or wherever we decide to film, and prep for like a month and then start filming for like 8-10 weeks and then go beat up the next chick. That's pretty much my plan."
The 2015 ESPY winner for "Best Fighter" continues to reach new territory outside of the Octagon while remaining busy inside of it. Since the beginning of the year, "Rowdy" has defended her bantamweight title twice, made a surprise trip inside the squared circle at Wrestlemania 31, and appeared in both Furious 7 and Entourage. She is also attached to the Warner Bros. action movie The Athena Project.
