Pic: Melvin Guillard suffers gruesome broken hand at Bellator 141

A rough night for the "Young Assassin" is much worse than expected the morning after ...

Melvin Guillard's night did not go very well at Bellator 141 in Temecula, California.

"Young Assassin" felt "very confident" going into last night's Lightweight main event against Brandon Girtz, feeling that his precision and power would be too much for "Cold Roll" to handle; however, in the end, Girtz got the nod from two out of three judges.

Unfortunately, the news went from bad to worse for Guillard after the fight was over. His right hand start swelling up immediately and American Top Team coach Din Thomas shared on social media that Guillard broke it during the second round.

And it's pretty gruesome:

Dear Melvin Guillard's hand, You sure picked an awful time to break. #bellator

Guillard's hand has already been set and placed in a cast, and he'll reportedly have surgery to repair it next week. If Guillard wanted to make up for his lackluster Bellator debut with another fight, he'll have to wait a little longer now to get that opportunity.
