He might have a strong grip inside the Octagon, but Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Benson Henderson didn't have what it takes to make it past the opening round in the 2015 Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) championships.
Several notable Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) combatants made their way to Sao Paulo, Brazil, this weekend, including "Smooth," who was submitted by Dagestan's Abdukadirov Magomed via rear-naked choke in the video below provided by MMA Fighting's Guilherme Cruz.

The 31-year-old Henderson, who continues his UFC run in the Welterweight division when he faces former 170-pound title challenger Thiago Alves at UFC Fight Night 79 in November, previously fought at the 2013 ADCC's, losing via armbar to Otavio Sousa.
Henderson is no stranger to competing in other renowned grappling tournaments as he has also participated in the Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championships, where he defeated Pedro Alcantara in 2013 (via Bloody Elbow).
Magomed goes onto face UFC lightweight and Blackzilians-trained fighter Gilbert Burns in the quarterfinals, with the victor nabbing a spot in Sunday's medal round.
