I think most mixed martial arts (MMA) fans expected Bethe Correia to get steamrolled by UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, but that didn't stop them from watching the UFC 190 pay-per-view (PPV) event, simply because they wanted to see the trash-talking "Pitbull" get her comeuppance.
Now, the promotion has found another undefeated challenger in the form of Holly Holm, though her odds of defeating the "Rowdy" champion aren't much of an improvement over past contenders. So can we expect "The Preacher's Daughter" to start flapping her gums?
Holm talks "trash" with TMZ:
"I have no smack talk. If I have anything to say to Ronda, I have nothing but respect for her. She's done a lot for this division, she's done a lot for women's MMA fighting in general, she's done a lot for women's sports, in general. So, nothing but respect. She's proved a lot."
Now it's Holm's turn to prove something.
She'll get her chance at the UFC 195 event in January (more on that fight here). While the former pro boxer is perhaps the most technical striker in the women's bantamweight division, she's failed to make a statement in two trips to the Octagon, securing decision wins over Raquel Pennington and Marion Reneau.
Anyone picking upset?
