UFC on FOX 17 lands Dollaway vs Marquardt, Samman vs McCrory on Dec. 19

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has added two middleweight fights to its Orlando, Fla., card at Amway Center on Dec. 19, 2015.

In one bout Nate Marquardt (36-15-2, 11-8 UFC) will attempt to turn around a 1-4 slide as he takes on fellow veteran fighter C.B. Dollaway (16-7, 9-7 UFC), who is also on a two-fight losing streak. The other fight features Tallahassee's surging Josh Samman (12-3, 3-0 UFC) who will take on Tamdan McCrory (13-3, 3-3 UFC).

Despite recent losses, "The Doberman" -- a cast member of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 7 -- is ranked No. 10 in the Middleweight division and looks to get back on track against "Nate the Great."

Marquardt has a long history in the sport, winning the Pancrase championship three times in the early 2000's before moving to UFC where he rose as high as a title shot against Anderson Silva in 2007. After leaving UFC he won the Strikeforce Welterweight title in 2012 in impressive fashion before beginning his current losing streak.

Samman, who trains in Miami, was scheduled to fight at Amway Center in April 2014, but missed the card with an injury. He'll get a second chance now and enters the match on a high note with two recent impressive wins, including a first round submission of Caio Magalhaes in July and a brutal highlight reel head-kick knockout of Eddie Gordon late last year.

McCrory is making his return to UFC after a short stint in Bellator MMA, where he finished both his opponents in the first round. The 28-year-old retired from mixed martial arts (MMA) in 2009 following a split decision loss to John Howard at UFC 101 and spent five years away from the sport.

UFC on FOX 17 is headlined by the Lightweight championship fight between division champion, Rafael dos Anjos, against Donald Cerrone.
