HIGHLIGHTS!
HIGHLIGHTS!
Ronda Rousey had two important missions to complete in the main event of UFC 190 tonight (Sat., Aug. 1, 2015), which took place inside HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. And it was quick.
Defend her women's Bantamweight belt and teach her opponent, Bethe Correia, and important lesson for messing with her friends and family.
It was a smashing success ... on both accounts. On all accounts, really.
Rousey stormed out of her corner, possessed, and went right after Correia. It was clear that she was not going to draw out the match, which she had considered in the build up to the bout. She missed with a few wild right hands and then couldn't get a grip on the Brazilian to give her a proper toss.
She did trip her up, though, as she tried to back away, which was all she needed to turn the pressure to the maximum and corner her on the fence. She landed two or three solid shots, which had Correia on the run. But, before she could escape danger, Rousey plugged her ear with a right hand then a left cross as she was on her way down that turned out her lights completely.
It was savage. It was special.
