UFC 190 results: Reginaldo Vieira becomes TUF 'Brazil' 4 bantamweight winner, decisions Dileno Lopes in blood-soaked battle

Jason Silva-USA TODAY Sports

The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "Brazil" 4 Bantamweight Finale took place earlier tonight (Sat., Aug. 1, 2015) at UFC 190 in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, between Reginaldo Vieira and Dileno Lopes.

Both Brazilian fighters were making their Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debuts.

It would be Vieira who would become the TUF: "Brazil" 4 Bantamweight winner, defeating Lopes by unanimous decision inside HSBC Arena.

The three judges scored the fight, 29-28, 30-27, 30-27.

Both fighters wasted little time and immediately began trading blows in the clinch. With less than a minute into the bout, Vieira jumped into a guillotine attempt, but Lopes would escape. The Team Shogun cast member attacked with a guillotine of his own, but Vieira was able to avoid any trouble.

After a wild exchange where both fighters were winging wild punches, Lopes clipped Vieira with a right hand that sent him to one knee and he attacked with his second guillotine of the round. Once again, Vieira found his way to safety.

Lopes opened the second round with some swelling under his left eye, which had been cut at the end of the first. Vieira had the advantage in the standup department early on in the round, but Lopes came on late and started to land several good body shots and secured a takedown with a little under a minute left. Lopes was unable to land much and referee Osiris Maia restarted that action right before the round's conclusion.

The final frame began in a similar fashion as the second with both fighters in a standup battle, but Vieira landed his second takedown of the fight with a little under three minutes left in the fight. The Novai Unaio fighter locked up another guillotine, but Vieira escaped once again as blood began to pour down from Lopes face. Vieira postured up and went to work with punches and hammer fists until the round ended.

With the victory Vieira improves to 14-3. Lopes drops to 18-2 in defeat.
