After locking up his second win in as many fights by taking out Thales Leites in a hard-fought battle at UFC Fight Night 72 just last month, Michael Bisping is gearing up to pick up consecutive win No. 3.
And he won't have to wait too long, colliding next with Robert Whittaker at UFC 193, which is set to go down in Melbourne, Australia, on Nov. 15, 2015.
UFC.com announced the booking earlier today (Weds., Aug. 19, 2015).
Coming off an impressive first-round KO win over Brad Tavares, Robert Whittaker (14-4-0, fighting out of Sydney, Australia) will look to keep his unblemished record at middleweight and break into the division's Top 10 with a win over brash Brit and perennial contender Michael ‘The Count' Bisping (28-7-0, fighting out of Manchester, England).
"The Count" turned things around after getting submitted by Luke Rockhold last year, taking out the aforementioned Leites, as well as C.B. Dollaway, in the span of three months.
A three-fight win streak will go a long way in getting the brash Brit closer to his much-desired (and elusive) title fight.
It won't be easy, though, as Whittaker -- The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "The Smashes" winner -- has really found his groove after a hot and cold start to his UFC career, winning his last three fights, which includes a 44-second knockout victory over Brad Tavares.
UFC 193 will feature a Welterweight title fight as Robbie Lawler defends his strap against Carlos Condit. Also on the pay-per-view (PPV) card, a rematch between Antonio Silva and Mark Hunt (details) has been set to take place inside the 60,000-seat Etihad Stadium.
