Glover Teixeira aimed high for his next fight to happen against Light Heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, but Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) delivered Patrick Cummins instead.
It's a 205-pound showdown that will serve as the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 77, which will take place inside Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Nov. 7, 2015, according to UFC.com.
Teixeira -- who unsuccessfully challenged then-champion Jon Jones for the division crown in April 2014 -- most recently snapped a two-fight losing streak at the expense of Ovince Saint Preux earlier this month via rear-naked choke in round three.
Cummins, meanwhile, competed just one week earlier at UFC 190, scoring his biggest mixed martial arts (MMA) career win to date with a late-round technical knockout finish of former Strikeforce champion Rafael Cavalcante. It wasn't easy (see his battered face here), but the victory launched him into the Top 10.
UFC Fight Night 77 will feature a legendary trilogy main event match between Vitor Belfort and Dan Henderson on FOX Sports 1. Tom Lawlor will also look to continue his 205-pound run when he collides with the hard-hitting -- and absurdly durable -- Fabio Maldonado.
