Bellator 143: Ewerton Teixeira promotional debut set, collides with Vinicius Queiroz in Texas

The Spike TV-televised main card for Bellator 143: "Warren vs. Davis," which takes place inside Statefarm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, on Sept. 25, 2015, is now complete with the announcement of a big fight.

Literally.

Heavyweight kickboxer Ewerton Teixeira, who was signed to Bellator back in May, will step into the Bellator MMA cage for the first time ever and battle veteran Vinicius Queiroz.

Teixeira holds a respectable 11-4 record in kickboxing, but is also undefeated (3-0) in mixed martial arts (MMA) to date. Queiroz, meanwhile, has won two of his last three fights, last knocking out Lavar "Big" Johnson in 23 seconds in 2013. He is currently 7-3 overall.

The fight promises to be a colossal contest. Queiroz stands 6'7" and weighs 236 pounds, while the kickboxing veteran, Teixeira, is 6'2" and 243 pounds. The powerful pair join a card headlined by former Bantamweight champion Joe Warren (12-4), who will take on L.C. Davis (23-6) with the winner vying for a chance to face division champion Marcos Galvao next.

Other fights slated for Bellator 143's main card include popular Middleweight fighters "Mexecutioner" Joey Beltran (16-11, 1 NC) and Kendall "Da Spyder" Grove (21-15) exchanging blows, while Featherweight standouts Henry Corrales (12-1) and Emmanuel Sanchez (10-2) look to rebound from losses their last time out.

Several "Prelims" undercard matches were also announced for the Sept. 25, 2015, show. Lightweight Jose Flores (3-0) will make his Bellator MMA debut against the also unbeaten Guillermo Gonzalez (3-0). Also at 155-pounds, Guilherme Farias da Costa (3-0) will face Jared Chaffe (4-1), and Welterweight newcomers Abdul Razak Alhassan and Bryce Mejia (each 3-0) will square off.
