It's finally time to do this.
Top-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight contenders, Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza (No. 2) and Yoel Romero (No. 3), will collide at UFC 194, which is scheduled for MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Dec. 12, 2015.
Las-Vegas Review Journal was the first to report the 185-pound showdown, which has been booked -- and then canceled -- twice before because of pneumonia (UFC 184) and then a knee injury to "Soldier of God" (UFC on FOX 15).
"Jacare" remained on the aforementioned FOX card, making quick work of last-minute replacement Chris Camozzi. The Brazilian is currently in the midst of an eight-fight win streak and has not lost in UFC to date (5-0). Romero, meanwhile, is also perfect inside the Octagon (6-0), most recently separating former Light Heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida from consciousness with brutal elbows at UFC Fight Night 70 two months ago.
It's a great fight, which will help support the pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event of the evening, an incredible Middleweight match up between division champion Chris Weidman and No. 1-ranked contender Luke Rockhold. The winner of Jacare vs. Romero will likely next fight the winner of Weidman vs. Rockhold later this year or early next.
UFC 194 features a Featherweight championship unification main event between Jose Aldo and interim title winner Conor McGregor.
