Opportunity knocks!
Welterweight up-and-comer Neil Magny will have a chance to shake off his recent submission loss to Demian Maia when he makes a quick turnaround to fight Erick Silva in the UFC Fight Night 74 co-main event, locked and loaded for Aug. 23, 2015 inside SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Gutted I had to pull out of the fight but this injury now requires surgery. My apologies to my family, my fans, @ufc and @ErickSilvaMMA
— Rick (@Rick_Story) August 11, 2015
Magny (15-4) -- who won seven straight before getting upended at UFC 190 -- replaces the injured Rick Story. Silva (18-5, 1 NC), meanwhile, was able to rebound from a crushing defeat to Matt Brown, securing back-to-back wins (and finishes) over Mike Rhodes and Josh Koscheck.
Fun fight.
The UFC Fight Night 74 mixed martial arts (MMA) event airs on FOX Sports 1 and will be headlined by a featherweight showdown pitting rising star Max Holloway opposite former lightweight Charles Oliveira. Elsewhere on the card, Josh Burkman tangles with Patrick Cote in a battle of veteran welterweights.
