Latest UFC rankings update: Judges screwed Michael Johnson, rankings committee did not

Joshua Lindsey-USA TODAY Sports

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently updated its official fighter rankings following the FOX Sports 1 action at UFC Fight Night 73: "Teixeira vs. Saint Preux," which took place last Sat. night (Aug. 8, 2015) from inside Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

Michael Johnson lost a split decision to Beneil Dariush in the co-main event (watch it), but won't lose his spot in the lightweight pecking order. Probably because the rankings committee -- like most of the mixed martial arts (MMA) community -- recognize that "The Menace" got robbed.

Sara McMann, however, was not as lucky.

The Olympian tumbles down the 135-pound ladder as Amanda Nunes -- who choked her out on the televised main card (video) -- shoots up the lightweight list. And flyweight phenom Ray Borg got a promotion, clocking in at No. 13 for his "Music City" victory.

That's not all.

Here's what the latest ranking field looks like courtesy of UFC.com. Note: (+/- = movement in rankings, *NR = Not previously ranked).
