The stars of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 190, which takes place TONIGHT (Sat., Aug. 1, 2015) inside HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, continue on their paths toward making weight in the latest episode of UFC video blog "Embedded."
Women's Bantamweight headliners Ronda Rousey and Bethe Correia take the next steps in their weight-cutting process, including using the salt bath and sauna techniques. "Rowdy" also talks her approach to this emotionally-driven sixth title defense of her Octagon career.
Later on, one-half of the evening's co-main event, Shogun Rua, checks out his weight, along with Heavyweight contenders Stefan Struve and Antonio Silva, who poke fun at their weight-cutting woes. Other cameo appearances include Claudia Gadelha, Demian Maia and Neil Magny.
UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo gives his take on the events' main card and the several Brazilian fighters who populate it. Then, we are off to weigh-ins, where Aldo joins a duo of fellow Brazilian champions Fabricio Werdum and Rafael dos Anjos for a quick photo shoot.
Lastly, Struve and Antonio Minotauro Nogueira make weight for their 265-pound tilt, as do Rua and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at 205 pounds, but Rousey and Correia stole the show with an intense staredown (see that here). Correia appeared to mouth something off that was indecipherable on the live broadcast -- not that Rousey was paying attention -- but we receive the translation in the episode.
"Don't cry. Don't cry. I'm going to knock you out. You're going to drop from my punches," Correia said.
