Well, you can't say we didn't see this coming.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight Costas Philippou, 35, has retired from active mixed martial arts (MMA) competition following a unanimous decision loss to Gegard Mousasi at the UFC Fight Night 66 event last May in the Philippines.
UFC mouthpiece Dave Sholler ends the Twitter speculation.
@mookiealexander he has indicated to UFC that he has retired. That should end the speculation for you.

Uriah Hall is probably somewhere shaking his head.
Philippou (13-5, 1 NC) made a name for himself with a five-fight winning streak from 2011-12, but was unable to keep that momentum going when matchmakers turned up the heat. The former Ring of Combat (ROC) slugger ended his Octagon run at just 1-3, including a high-profile loss to top contender Luke Rockhold.
Not that it matters, since he didn't care about the title anyway.
