Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight champion Robbie Lawler will defeat Rory MacDonald to retain his 170-pound title at the upcoming UFC 189 pay-per-view (PPV) event on Sat., July 11, 2015 inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
That's according to the EA Sports UFC simulator, which predicts a "Ruthless" five-round decision win over "Red King."
Lawler vs. MacDonald is a hard-hitting rematch from their UFC 167 fight back in late 2013, one that saw the longtime veteran walk away with a close split-decision victory after three back-and-forth rounds. This time they'll have five, and the winner will be crowned king of the welterweights.
You can bet a MacDonald victory would line him up for a potential Johny Hendricks fight and all but solidify this prediction. Too bad that's not happening. Well, at least according to EA Sports.
