We're just days away from UFC 189, which takes place this Sat. night (July 11, 2015) inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, which means it's time to check out the "Countdown" to "Mendes vs. McGregor" preview special that recently aired on FOX Sports 1 to market the promotion's upcoming mixed martial arts (MMA) pay-per-view (PPV) extravaganza in "Sin City."
The interim Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight strap will be on the line (because of this) when Chad Mendes swoops in on super-short notice to replace the rib-challenged Jose Aldo in the five round main event opposite Conor McGregor.

In the UFC 189 co-main event, reigning welterweight champion Robbie Lawler will once again square off against top division contender Rory MacDonald, after capturing a split decision win over "Red King" back in 2013. This time, however, "Ruthless" wears the 170-pound crown.
