Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is heading back to the big screen later this year to begin filming on her next movie project, the Peter Berg-directed Mile 22, which co-stars Iko Uwais and her Entourage buddy Mark Wahlberg.
From The Hollywood Reporter.
"The Graham Roland-written script tells of a CIA agent (Wahlberg) stationed in Indonesia who is tasked with transporting a compromised informant from the center of the city to an awaiting getaway plane at an airport 22 miles away. While en route, they must battle corrupt police, criminal overlords and heavily armed locals, all hell-bent on taking them out before they reach their plane."
Rousey's role has yet to be defined.
"Rowdy" won't be going anywhere until she's finished working her day job at the upcoming UFC 190 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place on Aug. 1, 2015, inside the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (details). And if Bethe Correia can manage to pull off the monstrous upset, there's no telling what effect that would have on Rousey's movie career.
But an ending like that could only happen in the movies, right?
