Yeah, that home field advantage for Bethe Correia -- perhaps the only one she had over Ronda Rousey -- it's just not happening.
If the scenes today during and after the UFC 190 open workouts from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, are any indication, you're going to have a hard time trying to figure out who's the fan favorite when undefeated Brazilian title challenger (Correia) steps inside the cage to try and dethrone the United States-born women's Bantamweight champion in UFC 190's pay-per-view (PPV) main event this Saturday (Aug., 1, 2015).
That's because "Rowdy" was absolutely mobbed by eager Brazilian fans looking to get a closer glimpse -- or even steal a hug -- from the dominant fighter.
In fact, when Rousey got through with her workout (see full photos gallery here), she took the time to mingle with the locals and offer up some autographs and photographs. Fans were so excited to get up close and personal with the Judoka, that it brought them to tears.
Check out the footage (via UFC's Instagram account):
However, what really took the cake was when a young fan -- in full Gi and everything -- breached security and jumped on stage to give Rousey a big ole' bear hug.
If that doesn't warm your feelgoods then this cage-fighting, face-punching thing is certainly for you.
Despite taking on a local fighter, it seems Rousey is immensely popular in Brazil. And it's no surprise, either, as "Rowdy" has often declared her love for the South American nation, competing there several times in the past during her Judo days, too.
UFC 190, however, will mark the first time she will compete in an MMA match outside of North America.
Poor, poor Bethe.
