Paul Felder may not have walked way with the win last night (Sat., July 25, 2015) at UFC on Fox 16, but the talented striker left The United Center with some high praises from Dana White.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president told Fox Sports that he was impressed with what he saw from Felder, a three-time Octagon veteran. To hear White tell is, his striking battle against Edson Barboza -- which took place in Chicago, Illinois -- was the best technical fight he's seen in a long time.
His words:
"That fight was the most incredible technical fight. It was incredible. I think this fight takes Felder to another level. Even though he lost, this was a good experience for a young guy."
Indeed, the two men put on on heck of a technical performance, engaging in a 15-minute standup battle that saw both men deliver their strikes with perfect form (see the head-spinning highlights here). Despite suffering his first-loss to Edson, Paul -- as well as Barboza -- walked away with an extra $50,000 after earning "Fight of the Night" honors.
And as thankful as Paul is for the extra $50k, he was adamant during the post-fight press conference (video replay here) that he's in the fight game to win every single fight. But, he did admit that the extra coin goes along way in easing the pain of defeat.
Were you as impressed with Felder as White was?
