Those who competed at UFC on FOX 16 tonight (Sat. July 25, 2015) inside United Center in Chicago, Ill., brought the pain to "Windy City" (full results here).
Some more than others, however, gave a little extra than the rest of the field, which in-turn put them over-the-top when being considered for UFC's customary post-fight monetary bonuses.
Every fight night, UFC doles out these "performance" bonuses to four of the 24 fighters on the card. Among those men leaving Chi-Town $50,000 richer are Bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw and top-ranked Lightweight contender Edson Barboza.
"Killashaw" left no doubt in anyone's mind as to who is the most dominant 135-pound fighter on the planet, delivering a masterful clinic of footwork and boxing to dispose of Renan Barao for the second time in his career (watch video highlights here).
Barboza, meanwhile, earned a split-decision win over Taekwondo specialist Paul Felder in a thrilling tilt that was contested on the feet throughout the entirety of the bout. Both men were rewarded in the end, though, for staging the "Fight of the Night."
But wait, there's more!
The returning Tom Lawlor put upstart Light Heavyweight Gian Villante to sleep in the second round of their "Prelims" headliner on FOX in the former's 205-pound division debut.
Furthermore, in the post-fight presser, UFC president Dana White made mention of "taking care" of Ben Saunders and Kenny Robertson for their "Prelims" welterweight barnburner, too.
Combat sports fans witnessed everything from spinning kicks and elbows, to nutshots (it was epic), to flash knockouts -- and more -- tonight, making this one of the more entertaining FOX-televised cards in recent memory.
Here are the special UFC on FOX 16 bonuses:
Fight of the Night -- Edson Barboza vs. Paul Felder
Performance of the Night -- T.J. Dillashaw
Performance of the Night -- Tom Lawlor
Each of the four combatants walk away with $50,000 in their pockets, in addition to their base salaries, which are paid by UFC. The Illinois Athletic Commission may or may not releases fighter salaries later this week.
