Mixed Striking Championship (MSC) will be putting on its second live event on Sat., July 25, 2015.
This time around, the promotion will be taking its hybrid blend of combat sports -- one that has a heightened focus on all things striking -- to BankUnited Center in Miami, Fla., streaming live on GFL.TV beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
"No tapouts, just knockouts," is the promotion's tagline.
The main event will be contested in the welterweight division with the Combate Americas reality TV star Alan "The Rebel" Arzeno taking on Johnavan Vistante. In the co-main event, Taylor Krahl will face Antonio Molloy at a catchweight of 155 pounds.
"MSC is poised to break new ground in the world of combat sports," said MSC president Wayne Bermudez in a recent press release.
MSC is a combination of boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai, among other striking disciplines, minus any ground fighting or takedowns. Fighters will wear the newly-designed "Evo" glove, which is curved at the fingers, fully enclosed at the thumb, and features webbed fingers to enhance hand mobility.
Fighters weighing 155 pounds or below will wear eight-ounce gloves, while fighters weighing above that weight limit will don a 10-ounce pair.
Fights will consist of four, three-minute rounds. Although takedowns aren't permitted, fighters are allowed to clinch and use elbow and knee strikes, as well as throw or sweep their opponents. In the event a fighter lands on the ground, the referee will halt the bout and restart the action on the feet.
The promotion's goal, according to its website, is to produce "100-percent pure striking live action."
