This time, it's personal. I'm pretty sure it was kinda personal last time, too, but now it's even moreso.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight Champion T.J. Dillashaw will face the man he took that title from, Nova Uniao-trained standout Renan Barao, on national television this Saturday night (July 25, 2015) when UFC hits United Center in Chicago, Ill., with UFC on FOX 16.

In addition to the main event championship rematch, former Strikforce champion Miesha Tate will face Jessica Eye in a potential No. 1 contender eliminator match in the co-main event, while Edson Barboza faces Paul Felder in an explosive clash of Lightweight strikers.

The FOX broadcast opens with a fun 155-pound fight between Joe Lauzon and former Pride FC champion Takanori Gomi.

It's a quality line up, especially for a free card. Check out the important numbers behind Saturday's showdowns:

UFC On FOX 16 Odds For The Undercard:

Gian Villante (-230) vs. Tom Lawlor (+190)
Jim Miller (-130) vs. Danny Castillo (+110)
Ben Saunders (-110) vs. Kenny Robertson (-110)
Eddie Wineland (-135) vs. Bryan Caraway (+115)
Daron Cruickshank (-155) vs. James Krause (+135)
Ramsey Nijem (-140) vs. Andrew Holbrook (+120)
Elizabeth Phillips (-170) vs. Jessamyn Duke (+150)
Zak Cummings (-260) vs. Dominique Steele (+220)

Thoughts: The matchmaking on the undercard is terrific, which makes my job somewhat difficult. If Nijem didn’t have the chin of Melvin Manhoef and the bravado of Mark Hunt, I’d be all over that -140, but alas ...

You know whose line I like? Lawlor.

There is no greater underachiever in UFC's Light Heavyweight division than Gian Villante. He’s got a quality wrestling pedigree, trains with Middleweight champion Chris Weidman, and has some legitimate punching power. I cannot for the life of me understand the reason he’s so impossibly mediocre. On paper, he should do to Lawlor what the Reebok deal did to fighters’ incomes. I just can’t rationally ignore a +190 line for his opponent.

Therefore, a moderate bet on "Filthy" isn’t the worst idea.

Cummings may be worth a look, too, because he’s got every advantage on paper over Steele, who is also coming in on just two weeks’ notice. It should be a fairly easy win for him provided he makes weight.

UFC On FOX 16 Odds For The Main Card:

T.J. Dillashaw (-220) vs. Renan Barao (+180)
Miesha Tate (-200) vs. Jessica Eye (+170)
Edson Barboza (-135) vs. Paul Felder (+115)
Joe Lauzon (-295) vs. Takanori Gomi (+248)

Thoughts: We’ve seen Dillashaw and Barao fight a grand total of one time each since "Viper" utterly demolished him in their first encounter on year ago. And in neither of those fights did I see anything to suggest the result will be any different. Dillashaw’s movement, diverse arsenal and impregnable takedown defense are just as antithetical to Barao’s flat-footed striking as they were last time.

In other words, beef up your parlays with Dillashaw.

I’ll give Tate credit: She’s tough as nails and has an impressive knack for winning fights she shouldn’t. That said, I wouldn’t favor her 2:1 against a much better striker who has proven difficult to bring down in the past. I think Eye has the skills to potshot her way to a decision win, so bet accordingly.

UFC On FOX 16 Best Bets:

  • Single bet -- Tom Lawlor: Bet $40 to make $76
  • Parlay -- Zak Cummings and T.J. Dillashaw: Bet $90 to make $90.90
  • Single bet -- Jessica Eye: Bet $50 to make $80

A title fight and a potential No. 1 contender eliminator bout for free, as well as a ton of evenly-matched battles. I'd say UFC on FOX 16 is worth a watch.

See you there, Maniacs!

Initial Investment for 2015: $200
Current Balance: $989.21
