Latest UFC rankings update: Tony Ferguson (finally) breaks into top 10 at lightweight

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) completed four major mixed martial arts (MMA) events over the last eight days, so don't be surprised to see an unrecognizable list of top 15 fighters, especially when compared to the one we released early last week (see it here).

Frank Mir scored his second straight knockout at UFC Fight Night 71, but creaming Todd Duffee in San Diego (watch it) wasn't good enough to bump him out of the No. 9 spot. Tony Ferguson, who also competed last Wednesday night on FOX Sports 1, finally cracked the top 10 (No. 9) after beating the snot out of Josh Thomson (replay).

That's not all.

Women's bantamweight contender Holly Holm got promoted to No. 9 with a unanimous decision win over Marion Reneau in "The Golden State" (highlights), while Michael Bisping stands fast at No. 9 after edging out Thales Leites in Glasgow, Scotland (video).

I guess nine is dee numbah ov dee day ... hah hah hah.
