Trainer: Ben Rothwell and Mark Hunt both 'great fights' for Frank Mir

Jason da Silva-USA TODAY Sports

Frank Mir showed the mixed martial arts (MMA) world that his fighting career is far from over after knocking Todd Duffee out cold during the UFC Fight Night 71 main event back on July 15, 2015, inside Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, Calif. (highlights).

The win gave the former two-time heavyweight champion his second straight after dropping his previous four.

Now, Team Mir wants to keep the momentum going as they eye their next challenge inside the Octagon. According to Ricky Lundell -- Mir's head coach -- potential heavyweight showdowns against either Ben Rothwell or Mark Hunt are their preferred choices.

From his conversation with The MMA Hour:

"Okay, so there's a couple that I can see being great right now. I think Ben Rothwell will be a phenomenal fight. He's inside the top 10 right now, he's looking for a high-profile opponent. He wants to get his face out there and he wants to get on the map. I think he's got a lot of hype behind him. I don't know if it's because of his fight or because of his WWE pop-out at the end, but I love him either way and I think he'd be a great fight for Frank. I think Mark Hunt would be another one that would be a fan favorite, something that the fans would love to see. He's a warrior true and true. So for Frank to be in there against somebody like Mark or Ben Rothwell right now, man, I think those would be great fights."

According to Ricky, Mir's recent turnaround has to be credited to his dream team of coaches, as well as proper rehabilitation. As far as the two potential foes, Rothwell is currently riding high with three straight wins and is eyeing a potential little eliminator fight against Andrei Arlovski.

So trying to convince "Big Ben" to take a Mir fight could be a difficult task.

As for Hunt, not much has been heard from the "Super Samoan" (aside from this) after he was stopped by Stipe Miocic via technical knockout last May. The loss was his second in a row.

You've heard the Mir wish list ... either of those two potential fights doing anything for you?
