It's been a long wait, but Renan Barao will finally get the chance to get his hands on T.J. Dillashaw and reclaim his bantamweight title when the two men meet in the main event of UFC on FOX 16 on July 25, 2015 in Chicago, Illinois.
This, after their last two scheduled matchups were thrown of course, first for a botched weight cut from Renan and the other due to T.J.s rib injury.
Dillashaw dethroned Renan from the top of the 135-pound mountain back at UFC 173 in May of 2014, knocking out the Brazilian bomber in the fifth and final round, breaking Barao's 32-fight win streak in the process.
Since then, Renan has fought only once, defeating Mitch Gagnon via arm triangle choke at UFC Fight Night 58 last December. As for Dillashaw, he also has only competed once, defending his belt against Joe Soto, who replaced Barao last minute following his UFC 173 pre-weigh-in catastrophe.
Now, both men are healthy and eager to tango once again inside the Octagon.
UFC on Fox 16 will feature a co-main event pitting Miesha Tate against Jessica eye in a No. 1 contender's fight in the bantamweight division. Also, Joe Lauzon returns to face Takanori Gomi while Edson Barboza battles Paul Felder.
