Rashad Evans vs Ryan Bader official for UFC 192 on Oct. 3 in Houston

Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight champion Rashad Evans will (finally) make his mixed martial arts (MMA) return for the upcoming UFC 192 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place on Oct. 3, 2015 in Houston, Texas.

And streaking 205-pound standout Ryan Bader will be there to greet him, according to company president Dana White, who made the announcement earlier this evening on "UFC Tonight."

The match up, which carries serious title ramifications in the 205-pound weight class, was apparently in the works for about one week after both parties indicated their mutual interest with division kingpin, Daniel Cormier, booked to battle Alexander Gustafsson sometime this fall, too.

Hopefully.

Considering "Suga," as well as "Darth," were both matched up against Cormier at one point or another, the winner will likely be in the driver's seat for a future showdown with "DC" sooner than later.

Evans is in the midst of a two-fight win streak (Dan Henderson, Chael Sonnen), but has not competed since Nov. 2013. Bader, meanwhile, has strung together four consecutive victories, his most recent a split decision win over Phil Davis more than five months ago.

No other bouts for UFC 192, which will take place inside Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, are official at this time.
