Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson planning UFC return in August

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

For Anthony Johnson, there's no better way to get over a devastating loss than to get right back into the thick of things.

That's just what "Rumble" plans to do after coming up short against Daniel Cormier at UFC 187 this past May in their light heavyweight title fight, one that saw "DC" capture the vacant 205-pound crown in the third round (video replay here).

And snap Johnson's nine-fight win streak.

According to a report on UFC Tonight, Johnson is eyeing a return to action this August. The problem, however, seems to be finding a suitable opponent for the No. 1-ranked light heavyweight.

As it stands, Alexander Gustafsson will get next crack at the newly-crowned champion (details). Glover Teixeira, meanwhile, is set to battle against Ovince St-Preux at UFC Fight Night 73 this August.

That leaves Ryan Bader as the only suitable, high-ranked opponent as a viable option.

The problem?

Bader wants a Texas-sized showdown against Anthony's Blackzilian teammate, Rashad Evans, at the UFC 192 pay-per-view (PPV) event that is scheduled to go down on Oct. 3, 2015 in Houston.

So unless "Rumble" settles for an opponent who isn't so high up on the food chain, he could be waiting a bit longer to get back inside the cage.

In the meantime, any of you out there care to play matchmaker?
