Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) hosted, what turned out to be, a solid line up of fights during its UFC Fight Night 72 card inside The SSE Hydro today (Sat. July 18, 2015) in Glasgow, Scotland.
Veteran lightweights Evan Dunham and Ross Pearson went at it (fight recap here) in the afternoon's co-main event for 15 minutes. The 33-year-old Dunham picked up his second-straight victory after he smothered the heavy-handed Brit Pearson.
For the duration of the largely one-sided affair, the grappling sensation steadily controlled "Real Deal" wherever the fight took place. Dunham nearly submitted Pearson on multiple occasions, with both a rear-naked choke and armbar attempt that will make you squirm.
Pearson is one tough dude.
Indeed, Pearson proved to be a viable opponent, fending off the submission attempts, but he could not land any significant offense. The 30-year-old drops to 9-6-(1) in his UFC career and has failed to secure back-to-back wins for the last two-plus years.
