Michael Bisping vs. Thales Leites will be your five-round middleweight headliner for the UFC Fight Night 72 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, which takes place in just a few hours (Sat., July 18, 2015) inside SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, airing on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
And the 36-year-old "Count" is likely one loss away from saying goodbye to the 185-pound title ... forever.
Bisping (26-7) has been consistently inconsistent, alternating wins and losses since his coaching gig on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14 way back in late 2011. While his middleweight title hopes have been put on life support during that 4-4 span, he's still one of the toughest outs in his weight class.
After a forgettable UFC run back in 2009, Leites (25-4) returned to the regional circuit and went on an absolute tear. The Brazilian ground wizard is the winner of eight straight and has now finished his last three opponents. Stopping Bisping would be a surefire way to get his name into the 185-pound title discussion.
This is an important fight for the middleweight division.
See you then!
