Despite lack of contenders, Holly Holm in no hurry to call out UFC champ Ronda Rousey

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Picking a fight with "beatable" Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey isn't that difficult. Simply talk some shit about her and her friends, and "Rowdy" will do all the work for you.

Just ask Bethe Correia.

But undefeated up-and-comer Holly Holm, fresh off a decision win over Marion Reneau in San Diego, is in no hurry to ask for a title shot, despite the lack of viable contenders in the 135-pound division. In fact, "The Preacher's Daughter" is convinced the day she starts picking her fights, is the day she starts getting her butt kicked.

From her conversation with FOX Sports:

"I want to get to the top from fighting. I want people to know who I am from fighting. I don't want to just participate, I want to do well and I want to win. I just like to get in there and fight. Whoever they want me to fight, that's who I need to be ready for. I don't ever want to pick an opponent. I feel like that's when I'll get my butt handed to me. I just want to train for whoever they hand me."

That could depend on what happens next weekend in "The Windy City."

If Jessica Eye is able to defeat Miesha Tate at the UFC on FOX 16 event on July 25 (details), then "Evil" will likely face the winner of "Rousey vs. Correia," who collide at UFC 190 on Aug. 1. But if "Cupcake" should prevail, the promotion may fast-track Holm in order to avoid "Rousey vs. Tate 3."

Assuming "Pitbull" doesn't upset the apple cart.
