Video: Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum separated following confrontation in Bangkok

Thankfully, Jean-Claude Van Damme was there to keep the peace.

Newly-crowned Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion, Fabricio Werdum, nearly had an instant rematch against the very man he took the belt from, Cain Velasquez, when the two came face-to-face in Bangkok, Thailand.

Thankfully, martial arts veteran and action movie star, Jean-Claude Van Damme, was there to prevent the two heavyweights from going at it.

And TMZ Sports was there to catch it all go down.

If you haven't figured it out by now, the confrontation is scripted, as both men are making cameos in Van Damme's reboot of the chop-socky classic "Kickboxer." Still, after their beef prior to UFC 188 and with Cain dropping the title to Werdum (see it), the shooting of the scene may have been a bit awkward.

Then again, both men are as professional as they come and it seems all went off without a hitch, as whatever issues they might have had with one another are in the past.

"Kickboxer: Vengeance" will also feature co-starring roles from Gina Carano and former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and is scheduled to be released in 2016.
