Rory MacDonald suffers fractured nose and foot during Robbie Lawler title fight at UFC 189

There's wars, then there's what Robbie and Rory did.

The highlight of last night's (Sat., July 11, 2015) UFC 189 pay-per-view (PPV) event in Las Vegas Nevada was undoubtedly the co-main event title fight between welterweight champion Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald.

Full recap here.

After a brutal, back and forth brawl that ultimately saw "Ruthless" retain his title by knocking out "Red King" in the fifth and final round (video replay here), both men had to take a trip to the hospital to check on their battle scars.

But, it was MacDonald who received the most punishment, as his busted up face was only part of the carnage that resulted from the epic fight. According to MMA Fighting, aside from his fractured nose -- which ultimately cost him the Canadian star the fight -- MacDonald also suffered a fractured right foot.

Injuries that were confirmed by his head trainer Firas Zahabi.

Despite the loss -- which was a few minutes away from being a win -- MacDonald's, as well as Lawler's, rep as a tough as nails fighter went up ten fold after their "Fight of the Night" performance.

The injuries will likely keep Rory -- who went 0-2 against Lawler -- on the sidelines for a while once the official injury report is issued.
