Rory MacDonald was literally four minutes away from winning the welterweight title and returning it to Canada, according to the scorecards at last Saturday night's (July 11, 2015) UFC 189 pay-per-view (PPV) event in Las Vegas, Nevada, as all three judges had "Red King" ahead of Robbie Lawler heading into the fifth and final round.

One more thing. Rory MacDonald was up going into R5 before Robbie Lawler pulled off that insane finish #UFC189 pic.twitter.com/byk5IaYN3G

Interesting.
Instead, MacDonald succumbed to a nasty combination that shattered his nose (pic) and caused him to crumple to the ground in agony. It was a reversal of fortunes for the 25-year-old, who had Lawler hurt and on the proverbial ropes in the third round (see them share a hospital bed here).
Next up? None other than Johny Hendricks!
