CM Punk talks UFC debut, criticism, religion in MMA and new writing career with Marvel Comics

A man of many hats.

CM Punk may not make his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut until 2016, but the former WWE superstar is already putting in the gym time (video), impressing his bosses, and making the always-hectic media rounds.

While in Las Vegas for International Fight Week, the UFC Fan EXPO, and of course UFC 189 -- which is set to take place this Saturday (July 11, 2015) -- Punk held court in his very own media scrum (via Karyn Bryant ) to talk all things mixed martial arts (MMA).

Among the bevy of topics he touched on were his experience training at famed Roufusport gym, dealing with criticism, and when he plans on making his Octagon debut.

Punk -- an admitted atheist -- also discussed the recent hot topic of mixing religion with MMA.

Plus, if you didn't know, Punk is a successful writer, too, as he has completed published assignments for Marvel and DC comics and has a full length book on Drax the Destroyer in the works.

Not too shabby.
