After hitting a huge bump in the road, UFC 189 finally has a pay-per-view (PPV) main event, as Chad Mendes will face off against Conor McGregor in a five-round interim featherweight title fight on July 11, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
That's because division kingpin, Jose Aldo, was forced out of the much-anticipated championship fight against "Notorious" due to an unfortunate rib injury.
Before McGregor and Mendes mix it up inside the Octagon, the two featherweight rivals will field questions from the mixed martial arts (MMA) media today (Wed., July 1, 2015) during the UFC 189 media conference call.

Joining the headliners on today's call will be UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler and top contender Rory MacDonald, who will collide in the championship co-main event of the evening.
With much of the attention focused on Conor's trash talk and Aldo's recent injury, "Ruthless" and "Red King" will finally have their moment to promote their 170-pound title fight.
